Hey Guys,
We have some important updates to share with you to help you have smoother and faster deliveries to the EU!
We will now be including EORI numbers and/or company names on our shipping labels. This will be printed from the information you enter in the ‘Company Name’ name field in the Pillow Profits app.
An EORI number is a unique ID used to track and register customs information in the EU, it is linked to your VAT number and allows customs officials in Europe to identify your shipments and issue documentation that allows you to re-claim the import VAT that was paid at customs.
SO for all of our sellers in the EU you can now include this information on your shipments if you wish to take advantage of the new feature. Please watch our video to find out more about this!
Whether you use an EORI or not, we want to remind you about the importance of including a customer contact number on your shipments. When a customer contact number is included it makes it a lot easier for our shipping companies to get in touch if there are any issues with the address or if the customer is required to pay any tax or duties. With DHL this is usually done by an automated phone call which is super easy and simple for customers to follow!
You can configure your checkout on Shopify to require a phone number by going to Settings –> Checkout –> Form Options –> Shipping address phone number –> Required.
Finally we want to remind you that EMS tends to slow down at this time of year so we do recommend using express delivery for items to the UK, USA, Australia and Canada.
Please be advised that Canadian orders shipped with EMS standard shipping from the week of November 12th onward may experience delays due to the current Canada Post strike. To avoid costly delays we recommend that you encourage your Canadian customers to choose express shipping and proactively let them know that there may be delays due to the current and ongoing postal strike.
You can monitor the Canada Post strike here for the latest updates https://www.canadapost.ca
